Recruiting skilled workers in rural areas – International talents in Wittlich
Recruiting skilled workers in rural areas is a major challenge for many companies. Especially in the technology sector it is becoming increasingly difficult to find qualified employees. We at A Eins are also faced with this task on a daily basis. However, as usual, we approach the matter a little differently than others and focus on broader support for our employees, not only in terms of their professional matters, but also in terms of the surrounding area. This way, we have already been able to attract many young, international talents. Patrick Schnieder, Member of the German Parliament for the Eifel region, visited us to find out about our strategy for skilled workers together with our international talents.
High-tech talents at A Eins: Schnieder meets our Indian IT professionals
This week, Schnieder met with Somya, Shashi and Maha, three of our Indian IT specialists who have been working for us for about a year and are developing complex applications in artificial intelligence, among other things. The visit was a valuable opportunity for our colleagues to point out the challenges that can arise when entering the German labor market. In particular, the bureaucratic and linguistic hurdles often pose an obstacle for international professionals and candidates. Due to complex procedures, entry can be delayed by a year or more.
Somya, Shashi and Maha – how do we support you?
Within the last 12 months, three Indian colleagues have found their first full-time job with our company. We support our international newcomers not only with work-related issues, but also with private challenges such as finding accommodation and with regional and social issues that inevitably arise when you take the step into the region.
It is important to us to provide the best possible individual integration and support for all employees. Especially when starting a career, challenges can arise in the area of language, which we actively address – our communication is therefore at least bilingual in German and English at many levels. This helps everyone feel comfortable and welcome, which ultimately benefits not only our team, but also our entire company.
Artificial intelligence speaks many languages
AI has been deeply embedded in the corporate strategy at A EINS for years. As head of the Business Analytics team, Dr. Johannes Schulz ensures that artificial intelligence is integrated into the development of products as an integral part, with maximum added value. In his team and for the entire company, the opening of the labor market for international IT specialists is another competitive advantage from which we benefit professionally. With the integration of our Indian colleagues, the main communication in the team has also been switched to English, so that collaboration can be made even more efficient.
When it comes to artificial intelligence for business applications, we are pioneers in the greater region. Thus, the integration of AI evolves the entire value chain of our Sales Circle and is thus an essential component of our products, such as in existing customer management, in cancellation prevention, in sales and marketing management, or even in the precise prediction of energy production from large-scale PV systems. Our IT specialists, work daily to further develop our AI applications and make our products even better.
Where is the road leading?
Overall, Patrick Schnieder’s visit to A Eins shows that even in rural areas, talent from all over the world can be found to help companies succeed. The conclusion drawn by Somya, Shashi and Maha after the meeting with Patrick Schnieder: “It is to be hoped that the political framework conditions will gradually be adapted in such a way that international skilled workers can get off to a faster and easier start in Germany. ” We are proud of our Indian colleagues who had the courage to come to us and are also looking forward to all future colleagues who will make our multicultural team even more colorful.
